Four New Liverymen

At the Court meeting on Tuesday, 25 July,  the Master cloathed four new Liverymen. They are (from L-R in the photo):-

Edmund King MBE, formerly Head of Newspaper Collections at the British Library
Anthony Davis. retired solicitor with expertise in antiquarian book collecting,
Jo Howard, Executive Search Consultant and Coach in the Publishing Industry and
Rob Whiteman CBE, Chief Executive of CIPFA

We congratulate them and look forward to seeing them at Livery events very soon.

Innovation Excellence Awards Honours Board

The Master and Court Assistants Jon Drori, Linda Drew and Jill Jones all of whom are current or past Chairmen of the Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards Committee, were delighted to see the Innovation Excellence Awards Honours Board up in the third floor meeting rooms at Stationers’ Hall.  This board recognises all the winners of ‘Innovator of the Year’ since 2014.  We are looking forward to the announcement of the 2023 Innovator of the Year which will come at the Awards Ceremony and Lunch at Stationers’ Hall on 25 September. Tickets can be booked via the Stationers’ website. 

New CEO for Corporate Member PLS

Members will have read that  Sarah Faulder is retiring as CEO of Corporate Member PLS and now they are able to announce that their new CEO will be Tom West  who will take up the position on 1 November 2023.  For full details  please read their press release  here.

On Thursday 13th July, the Master and Clerk atended the BPIF  Annual Print Reception at the House of Lords. Key business leaders and members across the printing industry were invited to connect, share their thoughts and network with key members of parliament and Lords.

Court Assistant Oliver Gadsby Elected President of The Independent Publishers Guild

Our congratulations to Oliver who was formally appointed President at the IPG’s Annual General Meeting last week.  He was Chair from 2014 to 2016 and has served on the board and as a Patron.  No doubt this will increase Oliver's work load but it is important work as the IPG plays a key part in the thriving independent publishing sector in the UK and Ireland and we wish Oliver well as he takes up this new role.
