Join us for our next Literary Lunch at the historic Ye Olde Watling pub where we will hear from author Emma Styles.
Emma Styles writes contemporary Australian noir. Emma grew up on Whadjuk Noongar Country in Perth, Western Australia and now lives in London where she was born. She has an MA in crime fiction from the University of East Anglia and has worked as a veterinarian in country and coastal Australia and the UK.
She spent her teens and twenties learning to ski, snowboard, ride horses and motorcycles, and fly small aeroplanes. She loves a road trip and once sat out a cyclone on the north west coast of WA in a LandCruiser Troop Carrier.
No Country for Girls not only won the prestigious “Wilbur Smith Adventure” prize but it also won the Little Brown UEA Crime Fiction Award.
Georgina Brown is Manager of The Wilbur&Niso Smith Foundation. Before moving to London, Georgina worked in Dorset, Russia and the United States. Georgina is a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellow. She holds an Undergraduate degree in Writing, Directing and Performance from The University of York, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy from The University of Leeds. She is a graduate of The Berkshire Hills Internship Program, an intensive arts management program at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Prior to life at the Foundation, Georgina has worked in the fundraising ranks of a symphony orchestra and may be the only person to have ever run away from the circus.
